Here’s a pretty different interview from Andy at Cycling Inquistion. I remember when he went down to Columbia to do that climbing stage race. It was sort of fixed because it counted the points you had from the Tour de France, Coor’s Classic, etc. Most of the guys there didn’t have any of those points. But, Andy did ride incredible well at super high altitude to win overall. I was racing the RCN, the Columbian National Tour, the next year and we drove up some of the climbs that Andy raced. 1st gear forever in a pretty nice Peugeot. I think the climbs were over 13000 feet. I was dizzy just in a car.
