Flying/One Day Left in the Tour

I’m at the commuter terminal at San Diego waiting to fly to LAX, then to JFK, then Paris. It is going to take awhile. I get to Paris at 2pm Saturday, so I have a day to mess around. Trudi is driving the 600 km from Grenoble to Paris to get the hotels ready for her team, so she’ll be there on Saturday night sometime. Probably not too early.

It seems like Cadel is in a pretty great position to win the Tour tomorrow. He’s already raced the TT when he rode the Dauphine last month. It seems like he has a ton of confidence, so hopefully that transfers into a great ride.

Okay. I’d better get going to board. Hopefully I’ll have some good stuff to post from Paris.

I had my swiss army knife in my pocket at security. I've had this knife for 20 years. I couldn't believe it.

I went outside and gave the knife to the traffic cop here. He really appreciated it, so it wasn't a complete waste.

Flew pretty much all day today. I guess Brian is racing Mt. Evans hillclimb this weekend. That should be hard since he’s not close to being acclamated. I sent a text to Ned to see if he’s racing, but got a text back saying he was in Spain sitting at a dinner next to Roberto Heras. I like looking out the window at the clouds. It is better from on top than below, better light. I didn’t check any baggage so I’m good to go right when I land. I’m going straight to a bar to watch the TT live. Alright, I haven’t eaten anything since this morning, so I’d better eat before the flight.
