Tour of California Mt. Diablo Finish – Live Video

This entry was posted in Racing on by .

The finish of today’s stage of the Tour of California is at the summit of Mt. Diablo, near Walnut Creek. Click here for the Tour Tracker live video of the finish, which is within the next hour. I did a race up Mt. Diablo way back in the day. Photo below.

I have a better picture of this, but in the photo is George Mount, Dale Stetina, me, Bob Roll, Roy Knickman, and others. It is great seeing Peter Stetina riding the climb today, following in his father's footsteps.

Back in Kansas

I was doing the 500 mile drive back to Kansas this morning, so this post is pretty late. Of course it was a direct headwind from the North on the way back, as it was a direct headwind from the South going down to Texas. It is very green back here now. I really enjoyed driving through the Flint Hills, even though I loath the burning. I didn’t see that much brown, unburned grass, so that is a good thing. Okay, I’m going to watch the Tour of California for a while now. Click here to get to the Live Tour Tracker.

The grass on both sides of the road in the Flint Hills is pretty green.

I stopped at the cattle pens to let Bromont romp around a little.

I've never stopped here before. It is where they load up the cattle after grazing all spring and summer.

Bromont loved it.

But, soon, back to sleep. He loves the purring of the diesel van.
