New York City

Yesterday I decided to fly to NYC and hang for the weekend. So I’m there now. I have a couple “real” things to do, but I’m mainly here just to walk around and explore. It’s been a long time since I’ve just hung in Manhattan for a couple days. The Priceline vacation package was $350 for the flight and a 4 star hotel for the weekend. I’m not sure how they do that.

I brought my running shoes along and am going to go running in Central Park tomorrow. Maybe later in the afternoon. I’ll probably be crippled on Sunday morning.

Trudi told me yesterday that Taylor Phinney was flying in for Oman to start his season with BMC. And here’s the Velonews article on that. She’s flying to Oman tomorrow and the riders aren’t coming until later. I don’t know why that is.

Okay. If anyone has some place in mind that I shouldn’t miss here, let me know. Lots of walking to be done.

Trudi feeding in Qatar yesterday.

Eddy Merckx starting the race.

Trudi with Doha in the background. Pretty futuristic city.

Check out Artisanal Bistro for awesome mac-n-cheese
The high line park in the meatpacking district is cool, and while you’re there the beer garden at the Standard hotel!

No reason to walk – rent a bike – or use the subway system – I think a day pass is like $10

Empire State building on 34th Street is not to be missed for the views of NYC and surrounding Burroughs.
