By far the best race I saw in Bend was the Collegiate race. I got there right after the start and really didn’t know anyone in the front group of 5. This small guy from University of Washington caught my eye instantly, pedaling super smoothly and handling his bike incredibly. Then I realized it was Zach McDonald. The last lap was a full on battle. I didn’t see anyone pass after the final corner, but during the sprint in this race. It was what cyclo-x is all about. Check it out.
