Fall came to Kansas today. The high was in the 40’s and it rained most of the day. 2 inches or so. I haven’t ridden since the race. I’m supposed to be “resting” my hamstrings. Seems like my normal everyday stuff works my hamstrings more than bike riding. Whatever. I’m not sure how this fall is going to be. I’ve been traveling full on for cyclocross the last few falls. And now I don’t really have a plan. At least one that is set in concrete. I do know that fall is the best time to do some rides that are off the beaten path. Here in North Eastern Kansas that is usually on gravel. We’ve got most of the paved roads down. I spent a fair amount of time yesterday disassembling my espresso machine and cleaning, lubing and descaling it. I kept trying a bunch of different beans. I probably shouldn’t of been drinking most of each sample. Sort of like wine tasting. Except kind of opposite. I was jacked way into the wee hours of the morning. But, I do have the grind and quantity down for most all varieties in the cupboard. Okay. Cross on Sunday. I’m 30/70 right now on participating.

It pays to get off the beaten track. What better way to start than with the perfect grind!
