I’ve been watching the Olympics as much as I have time for and I can’t believe how many empty seats there are in all the venues. I’d heard that most all the events were sold out, but even in the swimming finals, there seems to be blocks of empty seating. It seems weird.
The men’s road race had an estimated 1,000,000 spectators, but most of that was free to watch. I think the Olympics is important enough now that maybe all countries should pitch in funds to make the games possible. They said an estimated 1,000,000,000 people were going to watch the opening ceremonies on TV. That is unreal.
But, it is a shame that events have empty seating. I’m watching women’s tennis right now and the place is abandoned. Something is wrong with that. They should give the tickets away if there are empty seats. I’m sure that they could find people that would happily like to watch just about any sport in the Olympics for free.
NBC had said most of the empty seats had been “fundraising” that corps had bought blocks of tickets but aren’t using them. Olympic committee is trying now to get the tickets to people who will actually use them.
Most empty were slotted for all the sponsors. Problem is..lot just did not choose to take them. Looks bad. the Brits were talking about giving them away to teachers…students, ect to fill them.

Very expensive to go to London book a room , pay for food and tickets…they should give free tickets away to “Locals”….The world is prejudice….
Coverage here in USA is very weak to, go to germany you see all sports, all athletes, even so germany is not that good in “Sports” like the USA..I did olympic weightlifting in higschool, haven’t see nothing yet…I like to watch the superstrong petite little women who snatch 200 + pounds (most men can’t even deadlift….), I also like Tabletennis and I like to watch those sports you don’t see otherwise…to little coverage..here they focus only on US,; to my knowledge there are 198 nations competing…

P.S. there was a 15 year old from Lithuania, she swam the 1st 50m of the 200 butterfly faster than the men…
